The purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for presentation and discussion of emerging industrial technology. Also, it serves as a conduit for channelling advanced technology to the regional industry. It brings together researchers, from industry and academia, active in industrial technological fields to discuss current developments and future perspectives.

Therefore, the topics of this conference include, but are not limited to:

Mechatronics and Robotics (Chairs: Chris Cook, Australia; William Hamel, USA; Hideki Hashimoto, Japan)
Mechatronics applications in rural and food industry, micro/nanomechatronics, flexible structures; manufacturing technology; intelligent inspection, diagnosis and classification systems; robotic automation; special service robots; modular robots; spherical robots; flexible-joint robots; aerial vehicles; grippers; Intelligent sensors and actuators, multi-sensor fusion, microsensors and microactuators, instrumentation electronics, industrial antennas and electromagnetic devices, MEMS and system integration.

Factory Automation & Industrial Informatics (Chairs: Elizabeth Chang, Australia; Juan Jose Rodriguez, Spain)
Industrial vision, motion control, autonomous mobile robots, electrical vehicles, intelligent transportation, factory communications, flexible manufacturing systems, industrial automation, process automation, CAD/CAM/CAT/CIM and LANs, industrial application of internet technologies, multimedia, wireless communications, data privacy and security, authentification, authorization and federation.

Computer and Control Systems (Chairs: Farhat Fnaiech, Tunisia; Sandrine Moreau, France)
Advanced control and measurement, computer and microprocessor-based control, signal processing, estimation and identification techniques, application specific IC’s, automotive electronics, chaos control, non-linear control systems, industrial applications of neural networks, fuzzy algorithms, evolutionary computing.

Power Generation and Distribution (Chairs: Seddik Bacha, France; Gerald Ledwich, Australia)
Power system analysis and control, HVDC and FACTS, Power market, Power distribution network and automation, Power protection, SCADA, EMS, WAMS and substation automation, Green power.

Power Electronics and Energy Conversion (Chairs: Marcian Cirstea, UK; Kamal Haddad, Canada; Marco Liserre, Italy)

Keynote Speakers: Distinguished speakers will be invited to give plenary talk on various technical topics.

Special Sessions: The conference will include Special Sessions on highly specialised topic areas, within the scope of the conference and its theme. Special Sessions are organised at the initiative of one or more individuals, who must adhere to the specific procedures published at the conference website.

Working Language: English

Pre- and post-conference tours: Assistance with organizing pre- and post-conference touring of Australia’s best kept secret is provided to all conference delegates and their partners by Latrobe visitor centre:
http://www.visitlatrobevalley.com

Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers (double column, six pages maximum) in English using the online paper submission system located at conference website www.ieee-icit09.org.

Accepted papers will be published in an IEEE proceedings volume and will be included in IEEExplore and indexed by EI Compendex. In addition, selected papers will be invited for publication in the IEEE Transaction on Industrial Electronics.

Submission Requirements

Requirements for electronic files

Complete works are to be submitted electronically, with file size limited to 2 MB. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the respective conference proceedings, and included in the IEEE Xplore ® online digital library and EI Compendex database.

IEEE is very strict about the requirements for converting application files or PostScript files to full-text PDF for inclusion in IEEE Xplore ® .  Please follow the detailed instructions in "IEEE PDF File Preparation Guide for IEEE Xplore ® " (click here), which describes the essential steps in distilling PDFs that meet IEEE requirements.

The most important issue to is to make sure that all fonts used in the paper are EMBEDDED and SUBSETTED, especially for papers from Asia and Europe. The "IEEE PDF File Preparation Guide for IEEE Xplore ® " details the process to ensure that all fonts used are embedded and subsetted. Failure to embed and subset fonts is the biggest obstacle to PDF compliance with IEEE Xplore ® . Papers failing to meet IEEE Xplore ® PDF requirements may be rejected.

Formatting rules

Papers are limited to six (6) A4 sized sheets, and must conform to IEEE double column format. Up to two additional sheets may be included, at additional charge (see REGISTRATION page). Submissions exceeding 8 pages will be rejected.

Do NOT insert any headers, footers, or page numbers.

Templates for papers are available in .DOC (click here), PDF (click here), and LaTeX (click here) formats.

Paper Submission

NOTE: The IES paper submission system is not compatible with versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer that use non-Western character sets (especially in Asia). One effective solution is to use the Mozilla Firefox browser, available at no cost (click here)."
